Mestalla is burning up after 2 home victories!

What a week!

Despite the constant demonstration against the club hierarchy every pre-matches outside Mestalla, the team repaid the faith shown by their fans by delivering 2 consecutive home victories.
A clean sheet versus Athletic Bilbao (2-0), with Simone Zaza opening his scoring account and adding another yesterday night against Real Madrid (2-1), of which the odds were totally in their favour.
Both our January signings have proved to be worthy players, and in fact, they have been influential in both matches.

Zaza was sticking his foot in almost throughout the 90 minutes, and his commitment is incredible. We may have doubted him in our previous post, but hey, it seems like it worked a treat from his amazing goal last night! Will he finally be our goal source we so badly needed (albeit a little expensive..)?

On the other hand, Orellana was dictating passes. His intelligence on the pitch must have been the work of experience and flair. His assist and goal in these 2 matches made sure our creativity void is filled. Now, we won against Real Madrid in a match that had many poor referee decisions. 2 penalties were denied, the stomp on the foot by Sergio Ramos on Munir; and the obvious barge by Carvajal on Zaza, which would earn him his 2nd yellow card. The fans in Mestalla have always been telling us how the Los Blancos are always 'favoured' by the referee every time, and we have finally seen it first hand. Like for example, the kick to the face on Gaya? If that was not a red card, we do not know what else is..

Despite winning the match within the first 10 minutes (if we are still dreaming, we don't want to wake up..), VCF had to cope with intense pressure from the visitors for the remaining time left. Waves and waves of attack made us sat at the edge of our seats, but we eventually dealt RM their 2nd loss of the season! Well done team!

Nonetheless, controversies aside, we can bask in our victory and hopefully for more to come..

Valencia CF Mid Season Review

Well well..
The club has not been in the best of shape this season and we all know that.

What we thought that could be a change of luck after our 0-2 derby victory away from home against Villareal, turns out to be another dream too far away.

Sitting just 4 mere points above the relegation zone isn't what anyone would have hoped for. No doubt it has been the worst season for VCF, and also the most complicated.
Which brings to the point that our current caretaker manager Voro, is not to be blamed. In fact, we pity him that he has to pick up the broken pieces that was not broken by him.
We had so many changes in managers the past few seasons that there was not a certainty in the club's direction.

When Cesare Prandelli took over, we felt that the club was in position for a good comeback. However, that was not it as he left swiftly after a fallout with the club. It was a huge statement.

Who is to blame you may ask?

It is a sensitive question, but if you have been a fervent follower on social media, many are blaming the club management and some, the players.
We feel that all plays a part as a football club. The club is in a mess because of the inexperience management, lack of directional objective and passion.

We have no comment on how the club is run, but it is evident with a lack of passion in the way the footballing culture is cultivated right now. This then led to a series of problems, including the players becoming very unmotivated. To put it simply, not having enough desire for the jersey. Yes, they train hard and everything, but when there is not a leader on the pitch or a common objective to pursue, everyone gets complacent and become passive.

Our previous 2 matches has been heavy losses. In fact, embarrassing losses. No words can explain how painful it is to watch as a fan. Players like Munir has shown glimpse of brilliance, but his consistency is questionable. Also, who takes their time to leave the pitch when the team is 3-1 down? Nani. Our defense sometimes feels like they are having a cup of coffee in times of urgency.. Don't even get us started on Cancelo..
Then again, we are not football analyzers, we just speak about what we see.
But one thing is for sure, we need to buck up. 11 losses. That is enough. Big matches coming up. Less than 3 months to salvage anything else.

Carlos Soler, Valencia CF's next big thing.

Take it Ches, this post is inevitable.
Another kid has came through the ranks.

Valencia CF has been doing well.. wait for it, in bringing youth prospect from their own academy to the world stage. We have witnessed players like Paco Alcácer and José Luis Gayà in recent years. This season, a wonderkid in the name of Carlos Soler has been pretty integral to the team.

Decently built, this 20 year old stands at 1.83m. Initially a striker during his academy days, he has now found his spot to call his own in the heart of VCF´s midfield. Ever since his first team debut, he has never failed to impress, putting in strings of consistent performances, and at times, the best player on the pitch.. and eventually alerted the attention of several big clubs. THANKFULLY, our boy here has extended his contract with the club that gave him so much. But we all know how fragile it is with the football world these days.. *coughs* Pa..co Alca.. *coughs*

However, it is too early to tell as the winter transfer has just passed. Carlos Soler is definitely destined for big things, and we all hope that he realised them with us, albeit the current dire situation, we need players like him, who carries a big heart and attitude in wearing that jersey. I mean, what a way to open his scoring account in a derby match against Villareal!

His composure and passing range has been his key equipment, making him a complete footballer. Not forgetting his maturity and intelligence on the pitch which are beyond his years.. Oh, how we cannot wait to see his development in the next few years to come (hopefully with VCF) ...

Till then, we can only hope for many more happy Christmas with us and appreciate what he will be doing for us at the moment.

Valencia CF's winter transfer roundup!

Wow! What a month..
Apologies for the inactivity.. You know how it is with Lunar New Year commitment!
Whatever it is, here we are. Let's get back to business.

So in summary, we reinforced our squad with a striker and a winger during the winter transfer window. After much pursuit, we eventually got our hands on Simone Zaza and Fabián Orellana.

The Italian hitman was offered a salvation path with us after a failed stint in the English Premier League. Here at VCFSG, we do not think that he is the guy we need right now in our relegation avoidance. Considering his goal ratio to our total goals scored this season.. we could have wished for someone better. But then again, it is mid-season, and clubs would not be parting with their best players that easily, so I guess we will take it anyway?

Next up, we added another winger in Fabián Orellana from Celta Vigo. A former compatriot of Santi Mina, we are hoping he settle fast as there are huge expectation from his experience.

We felt that we could do with another range of attack to widen our dimension in front, but perhaps Jese (who was strongly rumoured to join) would be a better option. Whatever it is, this Chilean is here and we expect that he delivers!

Let us see if he puts in one of these anytime soon for Valencia CF!
He is a player well known in La Liga and we will see if he will also be the one to help our relegation battle. Fingers crossed, and Amunt Valencia!

Having already made their debuts, these 2 new boys will have half a season to prove that the club made the right decision in them. With lots of negativity these days, we are hoping that things will turn around soon.
